I just wanted say THANK YOU to everyone who helped spread seeds in Olin-Turville Park on Saturday, November 19th, 2011, and take a moment to acknowledge this substantial volunteer effort.  We had about 30 volunteers of all ages who fanned out across the park to spread millions of seeds at key locations.  It will be truly exciting to watch these plants grow over the next few years and see the ongoing restoration process continue.

Special thanks to Ron Shutvet for taking the lead in coordinating the event and to Russ Hefty with the Madison Park's Division for providing us with $1,400 worth of high-quality seeds.

The event received some nice press coverage on local Channel 3 that you can see here.

Here is some more information about the seeds that we spread:

Woods Edge seed mix was provided by the Park's Division.

Below are the seeds that were collected in Turville in September and spread Saturday.
