FOOT 2013 Ski Event

A perfectly-timed snow fall, coupled with mild temperatures and lots of volunteer help, produced a wonderful winter Nordic ski event in Turville Point Conservancy on Saturday, February 23rd. Hundreds of luminaria lit the main ski trail while two big pit fires sparked and warmed folks throughout the evening. Deep rhythms by Madison Drum Circle folk added to the primal scene, and abundant hot chocolate donated by Barriques coupled with lots of snacks and goodies, including s'mores, offset the calories expended on the trails.

At least 100 folks of all ages (and probably many more - hard to count in the dark!) spent a memorable winter evening with friends and neighbors - old and new. Thanks to all who helped with this event, and to all those great folk who came to enjoy. Look for your picture in the slide show at left!
